Transatlantique Solidaire Hop We Care!
10/11/2024
A wonderful human adventure for six big-hearted crew members aboard a magnificent sailboat, departing from the port of Marseille on Sunday Novembre, 10 2024 and heading to Martinique, with a return to Marseille in June 2025.
A unique solidarity-driven challenge, inviting hospitalized children from Sainte-Marguerite Hospital and young adults from the Paoli-Calmettes Institute to share in the passion for the sea, connect with the crew throughout the journey, and encourage as many people as possible to join us in funding Hop We Care initiatives to improve quality of life in hospitals. Bob, the mascot created by children hospitalized at Sainte Marguerite Hospital in Marseille, will be the 7th crew member, joining the navigators on board to experience their adventures vicariously throughout the crossing!
A first gathering will take place on Sunday November, 10 2024 at the port of Marseille, for the patients and staff of Sainte-Marguerite Hospital and the Institute Paoli Calmettes, inviting them to see the boat, discuss life on board, the planned route, and preparations with the navigators. The boat will return in the spring, with an invitation to welcome the navigators back and share their experiences from the journey.
There will be live interactions throughout the 4 to 5 weeks of the crossing, along with an Instagram feed to follow this incredible journey! Hospitalized children and young adults will be able to follow this fantastic adventure and live vicariously through Bob’s life on board, during navigation, routing, sail changes and so on.
A second gathering organized in June on the boat’s return to welcome the sailors and share their experiences on board!
